The Heritage Centre

A majority of lower levels are accessible with ramps, however unfortunately we do not have any lift access to the first floor.

Unfortunately at present we do not have baby changing facilities.

Yes, we have a small car for a limited number of vehicles. Parking is free of charge but you park at your own risk, we will not accept responsibility for any damage, accidents or losses. 

Booking

Yes, of course. All members / non-members can bring a carer with them. If you have any queries please contact us.

Unfortunately at present this is not available. We do intend to implement this feature but at present we are not quite ready. You can still purchase your tickets on the door, we accept both cash and card.

Membership

There are three main membership types:

  • Individual Adult – Yearly
  • Individual Child – Yearly
  • Lifetime

Becoming a member not only helps a small charity, it comes with additional perks such as:

  • Free admission
  • Members only newsletter
  • Advanced notice of special events
  • Access to the reference library

Unfortunately, there is no concession price for memberships.

Of course! If you are visiting the UK and planning to visit us, you can join when you arrive.

If you are planning your visit to the UK and want to join ahead of your visit, you can join online and you will also receive an e-membership card immediately which will mean you can access your benefits straightaway.

Unfortunately, you cannot join by Direct Debit or Gift Aid your membership if you are not resident in the UK, do not pay tax in the UK or do not have a UK bank account but you can pay by debit or credit card.

And remember, you will continue to get regular eNews direct to your inbox with stories and updates on our collections – everything you need to stay connected to our cause, as well as seeing how your support as a member is helping to keep telling the stories that deserve to be heard.

If you wish to take out membership (excluding Gift Membership) on the day of your visit after purchasing an admission ticket, we can refund you your admission ticket(s) IF a voluntary donation was not added to the original admission tickets. HMRC will not allow the refund of donations. Joining members will be required to sign up to membership on that day, and admission cost will be deducted from the membership cost.

An application for a refund on your admission in lieu of taking out membership can only be done on the same day of the visit and is not permitted after this day. This is dependent on the following conditions:

You have a valid ticket purchased for that day.
